Yakutia’s governor says ALROSA fulfils 2022 production plans

MOSCOW, Dec 20 (PRIME) -- Russian diamond miner ALROSA has fulfilled all its production plans for 2022 despite Western sanctions, the company feels sure of itself, Governor of the republic of Yakutia Aisen Nikolayev said in an interview with PRIME released on Tuesday.

“All ALROSA’s production plans for 2022 have been fulfilled. The company also meets its social obligation to the employees. The company pays all the taxes. In spite of unprecedented pressure from the Western states, the company feels itself confident enough,” he said.

Nikolayev also said that ALROSA plans to begin construction of the Mir-Gluboky underground mine in 2023, and to start production in 2029–2030.

ALROSA said earlier that the construction will need over 120 billion rubles of investment.
